You can make $ doing something you love.

Harvest, the owner of Desert Darling Silver and Be A Darling Permanent Jewelry, a local boutique shop here in Prescott, AZ, is a great example of  someone who has taken a hobby they loved and turned it in to a thriving business. When she reached out about doing brand photos and video for her products we said yes, of course, because we knew it was going to be so much fun (she's an absolute hoot). We also knew that we would be supporting her goals of growing her small business as she ventured from silversmithing into permanent jewelry, and now larger product offerings.

BE A DarLING

Starting a small business out of what you learned from a single class and turning it into a real live business takes grit and commitment, but it also takes positivity, and that is one thing that we've seen as we've helped create this library of brand assets for Harvest. She stays positive. She works hard. She tries to make everything fun. The joy spills over. The goal became how to capture that. Honestly, she made it pretty easy, because you can't be around her and not smile.  Now that she's been doing this for several years, you can see the way she's settled into it beautifully, and how she continues to try to move into new levels.

Photos that are full of personality

When we look at these images, we don't see flat, boring, lifeless product images that have, in many spaces, come to be the standard. Instead, we see something fun and girly, yet with a maturity that allows the brand to speak to women and girls alike. The personality of the brand is built through the context that Harvest has set in her shop and in the storylines chosen for the shoots. Her brand lives in a singular world. It's pink, it's a little bit of her hometown, Reno, and it's as big as Harvest's smile.

what now?

book a dork audit

One thing we love about so many of our clients is that they are more than that. They're friends. We continue to be there for them when they need help with branding and marketing, yes, but we are also there to cheer them on when they get into the new house, or freak out a little bit when we see them with their kids and their kids have grown several inches. Business doesn't need to be purely transactional. It should be about people.

So we encourage you to stop by her shop if you're ever in town. Say hi, see what's new, and give her a follow. We know we will be. And when she needs us again? We'll be here. That's the beauty of growing a brand that resonates with humans. It's built by them. By living the ups and downs of real business ownership. By living as parents, partners, siblings, and friends. We grow. It grows.
